A postpartum doula is someone who is trained to support families, help them get a good start and find their groove after a new baby joins the family. A doula provides emotional, physical, and practical support as well as evidence-based education.
A Postpartum Doula is someone who supports families as they plan for postpartum and during the initial postpartum period, sometimes longer.
We focus on education, practical and emotional support, and helping families create/find their support system/tribe.
What each family needs is different so what I do looks different for everyone. For one family it might mostly be breastfeeding and practical support for a few weeks. For another it might be education and being someone to talk to. For others it might be a few night shifts a week so mom can get more sleep.
